Ryan Adams could probably take a shit and come out with a gem of a pop hook, but as is the case with those talents, his massive output often outraces any editor that could cut it down to a reasonable size. So here again we have another double-disc’s worth of material from Adams and his ace backing band the Cardinals, recorded from the same sessions that produced 2007′s Easy Tiger. This is Adams’ in pure rock mode, however, without a trace of country to be heard – “Stars Wars” takes almost a pop-punk route with another hook that is impossible to ignore.
