Jim Fairchild has been around the indie carousel more than a few times – the former guitarist for Grandaddy now spends his time with Issac Brock and the rest of Modest Mouse as their guitarist, so it should come as little surprise that his new side project All Smiles is sprightly indie pop in the vein of the Elephant 6 collective and with the same hooks that kept listeners to those above bands in such thrall. Along with help from members of the Cribs and Menomena, All Smiles’ debut Staylow and Mighty is slated to be digitally released on March 1st.
