Indie heroes Cymbals Eat Guitars finally received a record deal and now comes Lenses Alien, the sophomore effort from the Staten Island rockers. “Definite Darkness” is the obvious initial highlight, combining anthemic, complicated indie a la Built to Spill with frontman Joe D’Agostino’s emotional, raw vocals. Lenses Alien comes out on Barsuk August 30th; get it when it drops and check out their excellent debut Why There Are Mountains as well.
