L.A. native Dillon Francis continuing his moombahton crusade with this remix of Flux Pavilion’s new song “Daydreamer.” Appropriately funky song for one of Flux Pavilion’s more restrained outings. Other remixes of the song include renditions by Jack Beats and Danny Byrd (available here and here, respectively). Vocals on the track are provided by British singer/rapper Example.

Cryptocracy is the debut album from Finnish producer Aku Raski, and it’s about as hard and ruthless a bit of trashy, bass-heavy electro house as I’ve heard in quite a while. Raski’s roots are in the Scandinavian heavy metal scene, and it’s apparent from driving, industrial-esque tracks like “A699F” that things like church-burning looms heavy in his work. Filthy, yet strangely danceable. RIYL: SebastiAn, Boys Noize, trash compactors, Bloody Beetroots.

From my hometown of Orlando, production duo Blood Eagle are making a name for themselves with this original mix, which is as ruthless and heavy as the method of execution the pair takes their name after (influences include: Vikings, R.L. Stine, and lasers). The two have a mutual appreciation for grindcore, and it shows in their music, which is as hard and bass-heavy as electro generally prefers to go. Show them some love on their FB page by clicking the above photo.
I’ll be in Coachella for the weekend – look for some sort of review of this crazy weekend next week. Cheers!

I’ve mentioned Candyland on the blog before, but fellow SoCal native (Palos Verdes) DirtyRock aka Alexandre Williams is another burgeoning electro house banger savant a la Porter Robinson, Dirtyloud, and Madeon. “Four Loko” is not only a fair representation of what the two do so well but is a rather accurate musical recreation of the infamous original Four Loko – energy in spades and a blackout promise later that night.

One of the staples of the Rottun roster, Canadian dubstep producer Downlink is finally trying his hand at some moombahton. “Tiger” is a deft mix of Downlink’s signature bass-heavy style and the slower, drum-heavy tendencies of moombahton. Headphones with some serious low end recommended.

Anticipation continues to build for Miike Snow’s sophomore album, which is scheduled for a March 26 release. The group has so far released two songs from the upcoming record (the first of which you can hear here), and the remixes are already starting to flow in. None hit so hard as electro producer Wolfgang Gartner’s reworking of “Paddling Out,” which transforms the original into a banging electro number with a heavy club-oriented feel. Just saw Gartner a few weeks back at Surrender Nightclub in Las Vegas; very much looking forward to seeing Miike Snow at Coachella 2012 - everything other time I’ve seen them live has been an absolute blast.

British producer DJ Fresh (aka Dan Stein) has no problem making smash hits (see: “Gold Dust,” “Louder”), and “Hot Right Now,” featuring British singer/actress Rita Ora, is another surefire banger. Add to that the harder stylings of drum-n-bass duo Camo & Krooked and you have a remix that stands up to the best Flux Pavilion re-working of Fresh’s material. Check it out if you like either of the above songs or fast-paced grooves in general.

Vandalism is an electro house duo from Australia that has been around since well before this whole electronic music craze – Andy Van Dorsselaer was in ’90s house project Madison Avenue, and along with his wife, vocalist Cassie Van Dorsselaer, the pair have been making music under the Vandalism moniker since the mid ’00s. Cold Blank, on the other hand, is a fast rising, homegrown Los Angeles production pair (who you’ve seen here before) who put an appropriately filthy spin on “Insane.” I saw them a couple of weeks ago at the Avalon in Hollywood and they absolutely brought the house down, which has become par for the course with them.

This German duo out of Berlin released probably my favorite electro house track of 2011 – frankly, it’s criminal they aren’t more popular. “Some Beats” is more of the same (read: nasty, groovy hard electro), with a little less hectic drop than that 2011 banger. I dig the driving bassline and the general clubbier feel – “sehr sexy” as they would say. Support up-and-coming electro artists and check out some more Electrixx below if you dig it (which you will).

Another Beatport hit for the Estonian Ecstasy. The flagship artist of Plasmapool’s dominating melodic electro-house lineup, Mord Fustang still remains one of the best at striking a nice balance between spacey melodies and the kind of fist-pumping womp that goes down well in clubs. “We Are Now Connected” is a fine example indeed. Have an epic Super Bowl everyone.

Beef Theatre is a Austrian electro duo with a good sense of humor – their influences include “girls on the toilet” and that above photo is nothing short of priceless. Dumme Jungs is a slightly more well-known German duo that give this remix no mercy. It’s a good mix between car-alarm house and an in-your-face electro punch that reminds me a bit of StereoHeroes. Check them both out and support some rising European stars.

Plasmapool, a German-based electronic label, has really been killing it with new discoveries lately, as exemplified by Estonian sensation Mord Fustang, who blew up last year with his melodic take on electro and dubstep sounds. Now they have a fresh-faced duo from Finland blowing up the Beatport charts. Trampboat are originally from Helsinki and focus mainly on dubstep, but “Ah!” is about as hard an electro house song as you’ll find these days. The drop and resulting fist-pumping chorus reminds me a bit of a Lazy Rich production. Definitely the most relentless song I’ve heard in the new year so far. Buy it on Beatport if you like it!
