It’s not often that house superstar Kaskade brings the filth to a party – the Mormon producer/DJ has always been more of an uplifting, house anthem kind of guy. But this remix of Zedd’s new track “Shave It” absolutely goes. Those synths are nothing to sneer at, and the remix as a whole boosts the song considerably. Give it a spin.

Brazilian duo Dirtyloud have been around the electro scene for a while now, with various remixes and originals floating around the web. Fellow Brazilians and friends Darth & Vader, meanwhile, have been slowly making a name for themselves over the past couple of years with a number of slick remixes like this one, which gives a groovy, sleek feel to this standard electro house number. That bass grinds and slides in all the right ways – check out this original and this remix if you like Darth & Vader’s style.

A little dark ‘n tasty treat from one of my favorite Los Angeles producers Cold Blank. Grimy synths buttress a lurching electro house jam that’s appropriate for any rave zombies. Happy Halloween weekend!

Earlier this week I posted a track by my good friend and up-and-coming electro producer Dr. Trout, and not a week has gone by but the Bay Area native has released another two-song EP. The Magic Conch EP is newer material than last week’s The Big Tuna, and takes things to a whole new level. The bass is grimier, the synths are greasier, and the drops are fit for a Filthy Friday. Tough to pick between “Olmec Speaks” and the title track, but both serve up the goods – I prefer the former only slightly, courtesy of the “Legends of the Hidden Temple”-sample. Sweet, sweet childhood, how you’ve been warped. Check out Dr. Trout’s Beatport and support a new artist.

Being a roommate to someone who loves electronic music, particularly that off the wall-thumping variety, can suck. Luckily, Dr. Trout (aka USC graduate and San Fran native Ryan Loomba) was not an average college roommate, and “Legend of the Bass” is just one of the many reasons why. It’s nice to see all those hours tinkering with subsonic bass and 4 Lokos leading into The Big Tuna EP, which just came out on Beatport last week on Big Alliance Records. Check it out if you like electro house – the Trout has a gift for melody paired with significant amounts of wub a la Mord Fustang. His second EP comes out this week – look for an update on it later this week!

Far Too Loud is the cover name for U.K. electro producer Oli Cash, who has been busting out dance floor fillers since 2005. Hard charging electro with an emphasis on easy-on-the-ears melodies, “Ready For The Stomping” is perfect alcohol-fueled fare for the club set. Check it out if you like anything electro house.

No, not two new cast members for Jersey Shore; Electrixx is an electro house duo hailing from Berlin whose motto, according to their Facebook page, is “let us fuck the world . . . with their mind blowing swell of nasty, hardcore electro beats.” Sure, why not? “Crispy Cake” is one of the best electro songs I’ve heard in months (probably since this nasty Darth & Vader mix), hitting all the right build-and-drop spots without sounding tired and recycled like so much new stuff these days. I guarantee a successful fist pump to this.

And the reward for most Euro-sounding song title goes to….but seriously, this track slays. Be it trance or house or, as “Maximal Crazy” proves, synth-tearing electro, Dutch legend Tiësto still knows how to make an anthem. I still stand by his 2010 Coachella show as one of the greatest I’ve ever seen, and if he keeps producing tracks like this, I can’t wait to see him again.

deadmau5 compatriot Feed Me is a relative newcomer to the electro scene – English-born Jon Gooch made his name in drum ‘n bass and neurofunk under his Spor moniker before signing to mau5trap Recordings with this electro house side project. Feed Me’s Big Adventure, released late last year, was a bit of a disappointment in that it seemed more like a follower than a leader, but subsequent tracks like this one have slowly been swaying me towards his camp. Recommended if you like your electro house darker, more ominous and a bit weirder than your average club-happy fare.

I posted a DallasK mashup a few weeks back that was solid, but this original mix blows that out of the water and then some. When I think of how old this guy (from my hometown of Orlando, FL) and other upcoming producers are (think French prodigy Madeon), it makes my life of case reading and outlining a little less exciting. Hey, at least I can listen to this and pump myself back up.

Dallask is a 19-year-old (!) producer from my hometown of Orlando, FL who just released this tasty mashup between Porter Robinson and Swedish House Mafia. Fine electro house from an obvious up-and-coming talent.

House supergroup Swedish House Mafia (consisting of producer friends Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello) have already conquered the summer anthem landscape with rave hit “Save The World,” so it was only a matter of times before remixes flooded every corner of the net. Knife Party, the new club project by Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen have their way with the track, turning it into a vicious Afrojack-y car-alarm house banger. Enjoy!
